We use HubSpot's module creation tool to churn out the module attributes as needed. By using booleans and choice module fields, we're able to create extensive layouts that can be used on multiple pages. We place the relevant CSS and JS for these modules directly into the module so that they can stand up without the theme at all.
We've come from a mostly WordPress background. We used the WordPress Theme Divi almost exclusively. We wanted to do more than what WordPress was capable of and in a way that made it easier for the user (the customer).
We used custom modules to develop "cards" that could then be easily stacked to create pages quickly. Each module was created with the user in mind so that they could edit every aspect of it making it flexible for various types of content without breaking their brand. The inspiration was Divi Library, but HubSpot allows us to make it better for the user. This removed us as the website gatekeepers and allows the customer teams to build the pages they need to support their individual roles.
The result so far is a happier customer that is able to rapidly create website pages without the need of a designer and developer.
