6 Things You're Missing If You're Not On HubSpot’s COS

Written By Aaron Wagner on Aug 20, 2014 8:00:00 AM

HubSpot’s new COS is making waves across the realm of marketing and web development, and rightly so. After all, who doesn’t want a fully-integrated, user-friendly and mobile responsive out-of-the-box website solution? Don’t wait until all of your competitors are beating you at your own game by taking advantage of the new COS.

If you’re not yet on the new HubSpot COS, these are some of the major benefits you’re missing out on:

1. User-Friendly Template and Style Design

The new HubSpot COS comes with a user-friendly template builder designed to help developers build new templates faster. The template builder comes with a user interface that is easy to navigate, making it an easy platform to use even for developers who are not familiar with HubSpot.

With the user-friendly templates and style designs, setting up styles and organizing layouts are a breeze. Templates and design sheets can also be duplicated and are fully customizable.

2. Smart Content

When it comes to giving HubSpot developers a marketing edge, the COS’ smart content feature is definitely a formidable weapon. Smart content is content that dynamically changes based on preset criteria. Smart content leverages both website and contact database information, allowing tailored messages to reach specific audience groups.

Gone are the inefficient days of manual lead segmentation. With the COS’ smart content capabilities, you can target individual visitors with specific messaging and varying context. From a developer’s standpoint, adding smart content filters to the template builder as rich text modules is definitely a nifty page-building tool.

3. Instant Preview

The style manager for the new COS features an instant preview option which is a valuable resource for developers. One of the most frustrating problem developers encounter is that coding errors are often missed until the changes are live, making the process of fixing errors as tedious and daunting as having to start from scratch.

With the HubSpot COS’ instant preview feature, developers can check for potential errors or changes they may want to make as they are working on specific sections. This makes it easier for developers to make revisions and view their progress.

4. Mobile Responsiveness

No doubt, one of the most important features of the new COS is mobile responsiveness. Instead of manually having to code the site to enable basic mobile responsiveness, the new COS does it for you. If your website is not mobile responsive, you’re missing out big time. Hand-held device web visits are increasing astronomically, making it vital for websites to be able to cater to individuals on the go by making sure they are just as accessible on mobile devices just as they are on desktops and laptops.

5. HubSpot’s CDN

HubSpot’s new COS is built on the same infrastructure hosting HubSpot itself. This gives websites built on the new COS great access to HubSpot’s content distribution network, otherwise known as CDN. HubSpot’s CDN has multiple data centers spanning the globe which means visitors can load pages built on the new COS on their devices fast, wherever they may be.

6. User-Friendly and Robust Interface

HubSpot’s new COS is known for being user-friendly. The system is easy to comprehend and navigate even for non-tech savvy users. As a developer, I see this as a potential double-edged sword.

On one hand, clients can fulfill minor demands without having to impose on developers who can in turn dedicate more time on major site development and more complicated site issues. At the same time, since the COS is so easy to use, clients may feel encouraged to poke around the modules and change things on their own, potentially leading to complex web issues.

These six features are just some of the many new advantages of using the new HubSpot COS for your website. From a developer’s standpoint, while there are still some features that are yet to be included, the COS’ capabilities definitely makes my job easier as well as the marketing team’s. The platform was developed with both players in mind and it sure is giving both an edge.
