Modular website design with the HubSpot CMS

ACYP wanted to create a fresh new look for their website and the ability to manage it going forward. This required the build of page templates and modules using HubSpots 'draggable module’ CMS function. Staff would then build the site pages.

Overview:

ACYP wanted a new website design and the autonomy to be able to manage it themselves. They wanted the flexibility to create different site pages based on page templates and be able to structure the page using customisable modules. Whilst they wanted this complete flexibility they also wanted pages to remain consistent and on-brand. To do this we designed and developed page templates and associated modules. The site is in the final stages of testing and will go live in the coming months.

Problem the company had:

Their old website was looking dated and the page templates and modules were very limited in their functionality. As a result ACYP were having difficulties creating pages the way they wanted and where having to use ‘hacks’ to create page elements.

The Hubspot CMS solution:

New page templates and associated modules were built in the CMS Hub. The page templates were composed of page elements that would not change and customisable modules users could add to create different elements of the page. Using different modules users could create the page the way they wanted. The modules were designed carefully and also limited the amount of customisation to avoid the site being off brand and inconsistent.

Results:

ACYP were able to create the site from 'scratch' using the page templates and modules resulting in a successful launch. The site was well received by the public. The Youth Advisory Council (council made up of young people and children) also commented that they felt the design was sophisticated and respectful to them. In the process of launching the site, ACYP has also commented on the success of the simple to use back-end system which limits potential user error and limits style choices to keep the site looking consistent . The module design and flexibility of the CMS Hub has also resulted in a responsive website with high accessibility such as: focus states throughout the site, screen reader optimisation, and colour pairing that passes accessibility contrast ratios.
