This is a notice that on January 30, 2019, we’ll be permanently switching over everyone who hasn’t yet switched to the new design manager on their own.
The new design manager entered an open beta last January, offering CMS developers a quicker, more flexible developing environment within HubSpot. With the release of the new design manager, CMS developers get the benefit of:
-
The new module framework (Cmv2)
-
25 module fields
-
Robust css and js management
-
Extended default modules
-
Repeaters
-
Field grouping
-
Internationalized modules
-
New coded file editor
-
New template builder
-
Site Search modules
-
Legacy Module upgrade path
These features each marked significant improvements to the tool. Now, with the ability to edit legacy modules within the new design manager, we’ve removed any blockers that would prevent someone from transitioning over.
If you are still using the old design manager, you'll see an in-app banner notifying you of the switch on January 30.
Below, you'll find answers to a number of questions you might have regarding the upgrade process. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to your point of contact at HubSpot.
Will anything on my site be affected when upgrading?
No. Nothing on your site should break, or be affected from moving to the new design manager.
How can I upgrade to the new tools?
To upgrade, simply navigate to the design manager in your portal, and click either the link in the banner across the top, or in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.
Can we still use modules created in the old design manager in the new design manager?
Yes! Legacy modules created in the old design manager will still be useable within the new design manager, without having to upgrade the module to the new framework. If a legacy module is cloned, the new module will be in the modules framework. You are unable to create new modules in the old modules framework.
Where can I go to learn more about the new design manager?
The functionality and features of the new design manager are documented within our designers documentation.
The new design manager is currently available for opt-in to all Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise users, as well as users of HubSpot CMS.
